Egypt's supply ministry mulls smart cards for butane gas cylinders

Supply Minister Khaled Hanafy said on Tuesday that his ministry is mulling over enforcing smart card system for the distribution of the butane gas cylinders.
The move is prompted by the great success achieved in using the smart cards for distributing subsidized bread to citizens in some governorates.
The new system will be enforced in Port Said as a pilot governorate after being approved by the Cabinet and the Ministry of Petroleum, the minister said in statements.
