
Sheikh Eid bin Mohammad Al-Thani Charitable Association will launch an urgent relief campaign to collect QR100 million for the people of the Gaza Strip.
The campaign will be organized in cooperation with number of TV channels, radio stations, local newspapers and commercial complexes as part of Eid Charity's campaign titled 'We Are All Gaza' which will kick off from 28 to 30 August, the charity said in a statement today.
Eid Charity's Projects Manager Ali Khalid Al Hajiri stated that the charity has pledged as part of its three-phase plan to collect QR 100 million. The first phase seeks to provide urgent relief worth QR 30 million.
Until now, Eid Charity has carried out projects worth QR 11.5 Million. These include the provision of food items, medicines, treatment of the wounded and shelters, said Al Hajiri.
In the second phase, the charity will allocate QR 40 million for reconstruction and home and institutions maintenance, he said, adding that the charity will allot QR30 million in the campaign's third phase for low-income projects for the affected families.
Eid Charity has been working for several years in Palestine, and the Gaza Strip in particular, to provide humanitarian and relief assistance, food and non-food items, development and reconstruction projects such as mosques, Islamic centers, scientific institutes and schools among others.
