A group of Emirati officials and businessmen on Friday visited the UAE pavilion at Expo Milano 2015.
The group which included Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy for Economic Affairs, Abdulaziz Al Shehhi, and Executive Senior Vice President of Dubai Airports, Jamal Al Hai, as well as officials from Dubai Chamber and a number of Emirati and Italian businessmen, toured the pavilion and watched the mini-feature film 'Family Tree' and an interactive presentation about preparations for Expo 2020 Dubai.
In a statement to WAM, Al Shehhi said that the pavilion shows the world how the UAE succeeded in turning itself from an arid desert to one of the world's very important states. It also reflects the UAE Vision 2021 which focuses on economic diversification and not on relying on oil as the only source of revenue.
He noted that the UAE, unlike many other countries which have oil resources and funds, succeeded because it invested in education, health as well as its human resources and their experiences and qualifications.
Al Shehi also noted that Expo Milano 2015 provided an opportunity to show the world the achievements of the UAE women and men as well as the country's support for innovation, creativity and research.
The world, Al Shehi added, is expecting a lot from Dubai when it hosts Expo 2020 Dubai, and it will beat all expectations.
