
Head of the Engineering Authority General Kamel el Wazir reviewed before President Abdel Fattah El Sisi the development project of Port Said Sharq el Tafria which is being currently implemented in cooperation with national companies.
Wazir said the project includes five elements; the harbor region, the industrial zone, the logistics zone, the fisheries and the South Port Said Tunnels area.
He said plans of the projects include the establishment of five kilometers of quays at Port Said harbor on the eastern and southern sides of the harbor, noting that equipment of 10 Egyptian companies are ready to start with the launching of the project today.
As per the industrial zone, Wazir said it will be established on an area of 40 kilometers and would be divided into 10 sectors with each to be built on 4 million cubic meters area. Each sector will be allocated for specific kind of industry, he added, noting that the industrial zone will include the first region of its kind in Egypt for engineering industries of machinery, equipment and others.
A second region will be allocated for automobile indutry, the third for house appliances and electronics and the fourth for packaging, he explained.
The whole industrial zone will be completed in March ahead of the convocation of Egypt's economic conference.
