The Finance Ministry allocated some 650 million pounds to Takaful and Karama program, as part of the budget allocated to the program about fiscal year 2016-2017, said Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali.
In press statements Tuesday, Wali said that the share of the general budget in the program stands at 4.1 billion pounds.
Also, 1.4 billion pounds have been allocated to the program from the value of the loan provided by the World Bank to the government, she added.
Takaful targets poor families with children younger than 18 to send them to schools, while Karama targets the elderly and the disabled, so long as they can't earn their living.
