Moroccan firemen have put out a huge fire which destroyed the old Azeke Lakdim market in Marrakech. Three fire trucks spent an hour and a half tackling the blaze on Monday evening. Security officials have begun an investigation to uncover the reasons behind the fire. Eyewitnesses said that the fire caused significant damage, destroying 5000 square meters of the market. A local source said that the fire began in a part of the market known as Souq Azeke Lakdim, which includes shops selling antique goods. Although there was no loss of life, the source added that the fire had caused property damage.
