
A delegation of the Red Crescents Societies of the Gulf Coopertion council (GCC) wrapped up on Thursday a mission to Lenanon, inspecting condition of Syrian refugees.
Head of the GCC delegation, Issa al-Ishaq, told KUNA the team examined the refugees conditions, held talks with Lebanese officials, namely Minister of Social Affairs Rashid Derbass, and international organizations working in Lebanon.
Ishaq stressed on GCC Red Crescent Societies' keeness and obligation to stand by the Syrian refugees to ease up their suffering and meet their needs, as much as possible.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) distributed 320 heaters to Syrian families today while the United Arab Emirates Society distributed other relief materials to the refugees in Iklim Al-Kharoub, located southeast of the Lebanese capital.
According to the UN, some three million Syrians have fled the violence at home to several neighboring countries -- including one million to Lebanon.
