
The cabinet approved on Monday establishing an executive unit of specialists from concerned bodies under the supervision of Amran Governor to be tasked with counting damages and reconstruction in Amran.
In the exceptional meeting presided over by Prime Minister Mohammad Salem Basindowa and attended by both of his deputies Abdullah al-Akwa' and Ahmad Obaid Bin Daghr and Governor of Amran Mohammad Shamlan, the meeting stressed on allocating YR 5 billion as a first batch for restoring order and reconstruction in Amran.
The cabinet authorized ministers of public works and roads and of finance, as well as Amran governor to choose the staff of the proposed unit. The council of ministers also authorized ministries of defense and interior to normalize conditions in the war-torn city of Amran and receive government offices and institutions (from Houthis) to enhance the state dominance across the governorate.
The council stressed that concerned central and service bodies should quickly restore basic services like electricity, water and telecommunications in both Amran and Hajjah governorates.
The cabinet confirmed that these measures should be coincided with humanitarian and relief efforts to ease sufferings of displaced people and enhancing efforts of ministry of public health in curing injured people among the internally displaced people.
While the meeting approved sending instant relief aid of food, medications and housing materials to 100 thousand case, it called for a meeting with all donors for mobilizing efforts aiming at providing humanitarian and relief assistances to Amran.
The council of ministers issued directives to all local and central bodies to complete underway projects and those stopped ones in the governorate and registering the governorate's further needs to be covered from 2015 public budget.
