Homs governor Talal al-Barazi discussed Monday with Assistant Executive Director of the World Food Program (WFP) Elizabeth Rasmussen, during a meeting attended by the UN offices’ representatives in the province, means of increasing the relief and humanitarian aid and delivering it to the affected families and people in need.
Al-Barazi added that several areas in Homs have seen security restored and witnessed the return of their residents, citing al-Qseir, Sadad, Mhein, al-Zara, al-Hussein and the Old City as examples.
He pointed out that Homs has hosted displaced families from Raqqa, Hasaka and Deir Ezzor, which necessitates increasing the volume of aid delivered to the province.
The governor hailed the role of national reconciliations in restoring security and stability to several areas in the province.
For her part, Rasmussen expressed the WFP readiness for more cooperation in the field of relief and delivering aid to people in need.
