
Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouly met on Thursday with representatives of Arab Contractors-Orascom Construction Industries-Bombardier Transportation Canada Incorporated alliance to discuss details concerning the establishing of the first monorail train to connect residential neighborhoods of Bolak El Dakroor with 6 October City.
The meeting was also attended by Cabinet Adviser for Transportation and Tunnels Hany Azer and other officials.
In a press release, the ministry said the project is expected to be established within three years.
The minister pointed out that the project includes setting up a 10-station line covering 35 km between Bolak El Dakroor with 6 October City.
The train is expected to take 38 minutes, he added.
This project will contribute to solving traffic problems in 6 October City, the minister further said.
A second phase is expected to be established after finalizing the first one in which a 27-km railway will be established inside 6 October City in order to be linked with the fourth metro line.
