
The National Agency for the Development of hydrocarbon resources (ALNAFT) awarded Tuesday in Algiers, 4 perimeters of exploration from the 31 proposed ones, as part of the 4th call for national and international competition for research opportunities and exploitationof hydrocarbons.
The awarded perimeters are "Timissit" (for Sigma-Shell-Statoil exploration consortium), "Akali Messali" (for the consortium Enel-Dragon Oil), "Tinhert North" (for Dragon Oil-Enel) and "Boughezoul" (for Repsol Algeria-Shell exploration consortium).
Besides theses consortia, the five bidders which competed for this tender are Eni Algérie which subscribed for the perimeter of Boughezoul. This perimeter was ultimately awarded to the group Repsol Algeria-shell exploration thanks to its much higher score (590 points against 210 points forENI Algérie).
Furthermore, no perimeter of unconventional resources has been awarded.
The signing of the contracts of the awarded perimeters is scheduled for October 29.
Chairman of the Executive Committee of Alnaft, Sid Ali Betata, dubbed "acceptable" the results at the end of this solicitation.
