The International Monetary Fund IMF said it would provide financial support for Jordan’s economic program to address economic and financial challenges. The IMF said in a statement on Tuesday, a copy of which was obtained by Petra, that "Jordanian authorities have requested IMF financial support and that the IMF stood ready to provide support for a home-grown economic program that addresses the economic and financial challenges facing the country. The appropriate instrument has not yet been determined." Minister of Finance Suliman Al Hafez announced that the government negotiated with the IMF financing its program under the Precautionary and Liquidity Line PLL at the value of $1.4 billion, adding that the loan’s procedures are not yet clear.
