
The first International Conference for Investor Protection was launched Monday in cooperation with the National Association for Investor Protection (NAIP).
Deputizing for Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, Minister of Industry and Trade Hatem Halawani said at the opening of the conference that the government is looking to consolidate the merger of the Jordanian economy with the global economy, through optimizing concluded business opportunities, such as free trade agreements with the US, EU, Canada, Turkey and Singapore.
The government has carried out a number of legislative and amendment reforms, the most prominent being the development of a modern investment law, in consultation with the private sector aimed at enhancing the legal regulation of the investment environment in the Kingdom.
NAIP chairman of the board of trustees, Mohammad Halaiqa said the conference will discuss investment issues such as activating investment activities in the Kingdom under the difficult economic situation which the Kingdom suffers from and expected everyone to address this issue.
