Industrial investments in the East Amman Industrial Zone reached JD84 million during the past eight months of 2014, most of which were foreign investments.
Chairman of East Amman Industrial Investors Society Iyad Abu Haltam told Petra on Sunday that the zone’s industrial investments during the past eight months made up about 18 percent of the total industrial investments that entered the Kingdom during the same period last year.
Abu Haltam estimated that the volume of industrial investments entering the Kingdom during the past eight months of 2014 were about JD 500 million.
Investments in the food industries topped the Zone's investments, standing at JD10 million, followed by the packing and plastics sectors at JD6 million, while the pharmaceutical industry stood at JD3 million.
According to the zone's investors' report, exports from the East Amman Industrial Zone reached JD282 million during the first 9 months of 2014.
