Minister for Finance, Umayya Toukan, on Sunday, met with President of the Japanese Agency for International Cooperation (JICA), Akihiko Tanaka, and discussed with him Japan's support to Jordan in various domains in light of developments in the region, namely the Syrian refugees crisis.
The Japanese official hailed Jordan's reception of a large number of Syrian territories despite major economic pressures and regional turmoil in addition to recurring disruption of Egyptian gas supplies to Jordan. Tanaka said his visit to Jordan enabled him to closely look at challenges facing the Kingdom and found out that there is a need to provide Jordan with further support to help the Kingdom grapples with the ramifications of the Syrian crisis.
Toukan thanked Japan for its continuous support to Jordan and highlighted the need for further support in the current conditions.
