The Jordanian nuclear reactor project could cost as much as $9.8 billion, the Chairman of the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission Dr. Khaled Toukan said Sunday. The Jordanian official told the media today that the project could take seven years to complete. He added that half of the sum required will be covered by Russia's Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation. He stated that Jordan will invest around $4.96 billion in the project. The project involves establishing two nuclear reactor stations that will produce 1000 megawatts per station. He stressed that they will not start the project except two years, to give a chance for conducting thorough studies on the project and its environmental impact.
