
Palestinian Finance Minister Shukri Bisharah signedwith the head of Jordan’s representative office in Ramallah, Khaled Al Shawabkeh,on Wednesday a cooperation agreement on administrative and technical issues andthe exchange of expertise in the customs field.The agreement aims to enhance joint cooperation and the flow of informationthrough electronic linkage between the two countries to fight smuggling, monitorexports and imports and prevent customs related crimes.The Palestinian minister said the agreement is part of the efforts being undertakenby the two countries to boost bilateral relations. He praised Jordan’s efforts to trainPalestinian customs cadres.Al Shawabkeh said the agreement is part of the efforts made by Prime MinisterAbdullah Ensour during his recent visit to the West Bank when he had attendedmeetings of the Joint Jordanian-Palestinian Committee.He said political and economic prosperity in Palestine will reflect positively on boththe sides and called for further efforts to facilitate the movement of people andgoods between Jordan and Palestine.
