The number of Jordanians living in Qatar has increased by 30 per cent, reaching nearly 40,000, the Jordanian Ambassador to Qatar Mohammed Smadi said on Saturday.
Speaking to Petra's reporter in Doha, the envoy praised the ties between the two countries, which reflected positively on their peoples coming from different walks of life, while noting that these ties are evolving constantly.
The ambassador also highlighted the keenness of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar to further enhance ties between the two Arab countries in various fields.
Citing official figures for Qatar, Ambassador Smadi said that the number of Jordanians living in Qatar has been growing constantly since 2013. The Jordanian community in Qatar, he said, has increased in number from 30,000 in 2012 to almost 40,000 in 2014.
