Kuwait News Agency issued on Tuesday the 2011 biannual economic report on Kuwait, which includes a review of the economic activity and performance in the period, in addition to analysis on these events from leading local experts. The state news agency's report aims to highlight economic strides made by the Gulf country in the midst of two years remaining in a development plan Kuwait has embarked upon. The report contains three chapters, the first of which discusses the performance of the Kuwait Stock Exchange and major transactions witnessed during the second half of 2011. It also highlights the impact of the global economic crisis, domestic events and geopolitical factors on the local stock market's performance. The second chapter provides readers with expert analysis on the period and future predictions for 2012. It also reveals the accomplishments made by the country's regulator of public funds, the State Audit Bureau, through an interview with its President Abdulaziz Al-Adsani. The third and last chapter discusses Kuwait's air transport market, with emphasis on commercial flight sales and passenger demand, the flow of air freight and logistical capabilities. An interview with a leading official in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation explains the most recent changes made in the airline and air freight industries.
