
Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) inked an agreement Monday to finance eight small development projects in Lebanon with a total cost of USD 1.21 million.
Head of the KFAED office in Lebanon Nawaf Al-Dabbous said that the sum is part of the Kuwaiti government-pledged grant to Lebanon in 2006.
"So far, 75 development projects were financed through the Kuwaiti grant since 2006," he told KUNA.
Meanwhile, Head of Kuwait Relief Organization (KRO) Mohammad Khair told KUNA that the Kuwait is keen on backing development march in Lebanon.
"The KFAED projects in Lebanon embody the deeply-rooted relations between the two Arab countries," he said.
For their part, the Lebanese officials expressed gratitude for Kuwait's unlimited support to their country.
"Kuwait never hesitated to offer helpful hand to Lebanon and its people," Mayor Tripoli Nader Ghazal told KUNA.
He thanked Kuwaiti leadership and people for their generosity and finance to development project in Lebanon.
