Second Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Abdulwahab Al-Wazzan discussed on Monday with visiting Nepalese Minister of Finance Barsha Man Pun and accompanying officials plans for elevating level of commercial and economic cooperation between Kuwait and Nepal. Addressing Pun and his delegation, during a meeting held at the chamber's headquarters, Al-Wazzan praised bilateral ties bounding the two countries, but indicated that level of these relations remained short of aspirations. On some main obstacles obstructing efforts for enhancing economic relations between the two countries, Al-Wazzan mentioned lack of sufficient information about investment opportunities, commercial and investment laws in Nepal and non-existence of direct transport routes between the two states. He affirmed keenness on exerting all possible efforts to strengthen the economic relations and commercial cooperation between the two friendly countries. For his part, Pun affirmed that his visit to Kuwait was aimed at boosting the economic cooperation and bolstering the "commercial partnership" with the Gulf country. Shedding light on some of the existing incentives at home, Pun said that the government of his country had carried out economic reforms to improve investment atmosphere to lure foreign enterprises in various sectors, namely power, infrastructure and agriculture. Moreover, the government would hold a major exhibition for promoting national products soon.
