The 32nd International Khartoum Fair which was inaugurated by Sudanese First Vice President Bakri Hassan Saleh, kicked off here last night, with the participation of 17 countries including Kuwait, besides more than 640 international and local companies.
Such participation precedes the Kuwaiti-Sudanese Joint Ministerial Committee to be hosted by Kuwait in the second week of February, Kuwait Ambassador to Khartoum Talal Al-Hajri told KUNA.
Al-Hajri added that 14 Kuwaiti food, construction and chemical industries companies and other various sectors are taking part in this exhibition.
The Kuwaiti participation comes within the government's bid to boost economy, as Kuwait has always been keen to participate in such exhibitions, he added.
Al-Hajri added that the Sudanese Vice President visited the Kuwaiti pavilion where he was received by head of the Kuwaiti pavilion Abdullah Al-Mutairi.
Al-Mutairi said in a similar statement to KUNA that Kuwait is also keen to participate in the annual event of Khartoum International Fair, which represents a great opportunity to open up new prospects for the export of its products to the Sudanese market.
He added that the Kuwaiti participation came to compete with countries investing in Sudan, which he said has "a developing and promising market".
The Fair is an annual general trade gathering featuring a wide range of products such as industrial, agricultural, machinery, equipment, electronics, electrical appliances, telecommunication equipment, consumer goods, office, home furniture, automobiles and handicrafts.
