Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) was among the winners in the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2014, a press statement said on Thursday.
The Gold award in the prestigious annual scheme run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents RoSPA was presented to Acting Vice President-Europe Khaled Al-Mushaileh during a ceremony in London on 17th June 2014, it said.
The ROSPA Awards, which date back 58 years, recognize commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention at work. Through the scheme, judges consider entrants' overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
Khaled Al-Mushaileh said in a statement: "The RoSPA Awards encourage the raising of occupational health and safety standards across KPI. We are very pleased that KPI have won the Gold Award for the past three years and it was very reassuring see that our refinery in Europoort, who also entered the awards again in 2014, achieved the Gold Award." "We would like to encourage all our operating units to enter the 2015 ROSPA Award to gain recognition for their health and safety management systems and to contribute to a collective raising of the SSHE standards within KPI," he added
