Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah
Kuwait - KUNA

His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Sunday voiced broadside against failure to carry out public projects as scheduled, urging a new approach to implement development projects.
Sheikh Jaber Mubarak voiced the criticism during a weekly cabinet meeting held at Seif Palace, calling on state bodies concerned to find a new approach that could ensure a disciplined execution of public projects.
He emphasized that this fresh system should put into account several aspects: preservation of public funds, full transparency and equal opportunities, abidance by law, swift implementation and work quality and serious accountability, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Justice Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah said in news statements following the meeting.
Accordingly, a team of representatives from involved state bodies would be set up in order to find an integrated system to ensure the fast-track and scheduled implementation of governmental projects, he said.
The cabinet then reviewed a recent letter sent to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah from Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades, inviting His Highness the Amir to visit Cyprus as a sign of promoting good relations between both countries.
The ministers also discussed the State's financial situation, including assets and commitments as Undersecretary of the Finance Ministry Khalifa Hamada elaborated on the obligations of the State budget towards the Public Institution of Social Security (PISS), construction projects, treasury bills and bonds.
Managing Director of the Public Investment Authority Bader Al-Saad expounded on financial data for 2013 and 2014 FYs and comparison between them.
The cabinet voiced satisfaction with the country's financial and economic findings that would certainly contribute to the success of the state's policies aiming at economic opening-up and transferring Kuwait into a regional financial and commercial hub.
The ministers finally discussed issues on the agenda of the National Assembly and several reports on the regional and international developments, including Iraq. The cabinet decided to send urgent humanitarian aid to Iraqi people through UN humanitarian bodies
