The Kuwait Minister of Communications Salem Mutheeb Al-Utheina issued a resolution Wednesday reshuffling the telecommunication and internet regulatory committee. In a press statement, the Ministry of the Communications said the new line-up includes the Ministry Undersecretary Hameed H. Al-Qattan as chairman and the Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary Mansour Al-Bader as deputy chairman. In addition to Al-Qattan and Al-Bader, the line-up will comprise 13 of the ministry's top officials. The ministerial resolution, No 2747 of 2013, detailed the duties and roles of the regulatory committee. Among the duties of the committee as per the resolution; are monitoring tariffs and preventing non-competitive behavior; overseeing the application of local and international quality standards; and issuing, amending, renewing and annulling company licences. The committee also supervises the work of internet providers and issuance of new internet licenses.
