Kuwait to offer $4bn aid to Egypt

The State of Kuwait today announced an urgent aid worth USD four billion for Egypt. Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Minister of State for Municipal affairs Shaikh Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the move aimed to “help the people (of Egypt) cope with the ongoing conditions and their consequent repercussions. He explained that the aid package consists of a USD two billion deposit in Egypt's Central Bank, a USD one billion grant and USD one billion worth of oil and its derivatives as a grant.
