
The National Conference for Empowering Competencies, slated for October 14-15, will mull setting crystal-clear criteria for appointments in government institutions and state-run companies, the event's general coordinator MP Yaqoub Al-Sani'a said Sunday.
"The conference will tackle the absence of clear criteria for appointments (in the public sector)," Al-Sani'a said in a press conference on the preparation for the upcoming event.
It aims "to achieve fairness in employment and choosing the right person to the right post," to maintain the higher interests of the state as well as the public and private sectors.
He went on to say that the conference will focus on the strategic alternative to set criteria for appointments of supervisory and leading posts in the public sector and how to make the best use of outcome of the educational process in the private sector.
Al-Sani'a underlined that employment fairness would help increase the employees productivity, which would give impetus to state and society development process.
He highlighted the importance of cooperation between the government and the parliament to achieve these goals.
The two-day conference will see the participation of many experts in the fields of planning and development who will try to come up with solutions to raise the upgrade national manpower.
The conference will be held under the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, as directed by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah who always strives to promote the importance of planning and development in building and securing future generations.
