
The Minister of Infrastructure and Reconstruction at the Darfur Regional Authority (DRA) and representative of the Chairman of the DRA, Taj-Eddin Bashir Niyam, has described the laying down of foundation stone for the free zone area between Sudan and Chad as a significant step and a positive development in the relations and cooperation between the two countries.
He affirmed that this step will contribute to achieving security, stability and development at the joint Sudanese Chadian border, especially that this region has tribal mingling and mutual interests.
In a statement to SUNA, Niyam pointed out to convocation of the Investment Forum that during August 19-20 in the capital of West Darfur State, Genaina, with participation of a Chadian delegation led by the Chadian Minister of Trade , the Walis (governors) of Darfur states and a delegation of DRA.
He said pointed to importance of the recommendations of this forum toward boosting the relations between Sudan and Chad, noting that the forum discussed three working papers on the investment opportunities in Darfur, the future of investment and the investment opportunities in Darfur states.
