
The loans provided by the Egyptian banks, except for the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), to customers have increased by EGP 8 billion in June 2015.
The total loans reached EGP 713.6 billion at the end of June compared to EGP 705.6 billion at the end of May, the CBE said in a statement Friday.
The bank loans to the government soared to EGP 66.42 billion in June as opposed to only EGP 62.9 billion in May.
The non-governmental loans also increased to reach EGP 647.2 billion, including EGP 464.9 billion loans in the local currency, and loans in foreign currencies amounted to EGP 182.6 billion.
