
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab met on Sunday with Finance Minister Hany Qadry to discuss mechanisms of putting into effect Egypt's 2015/2016 fiscal year and reducing the budget deficit that reaches 251 billion pounds.
They tackled also programs for needy people as 427 billion pounds were allocated in the new fiscal year to these social programs.
They discussed the outcome of the social debate on amendments to the law of sales tax.
Mahlab called for controlling public debt and budget deficit to maintain Egypt's economy but without affecting spending on social programs, Cabinet Spokesman Hossam Qawish said.
Mahlab ordered also meeting the needs of the Egyptian people to alleviate the burden on future generations.
