Head of the Egyptian Co. for Metro Management & Operation Ali Fadali and CEO of company Khaled Sabra on Saturday inspected renovation works in Helwan Metro station, the company's spokesman Ahmed Abdel Hadi said.
The renovation works include setting up kiosks for street vendors at the Metro station in order to prevent street vendors from selling inside metro trains and to reduce the company's losses by renting the kiosks as well as providing more job opportunities for youths, Abdel Hadi said.
He added that a public auction will be announced next month concerning the kiosks.
Transportation Minister Saad el Gioshy is expected to inaugurate Helwan Metro station after renovation works, Abdel Hadi further said.
