Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development, has stressed the importance of developing Arab land transportation in driving economic growth and enhancing communication among Arab states.
He added that the road transport sector is one of the most effective factors in stimulating the economic, social and cultural fields.
Dr. Al Nuaimi made these comments today during the opening of the two-day Arab Union of Land Transport Meetings at its 56th General Assembly at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
During the meeting, Dr. Al Nuaimi called for the need to strengthen co-operation and joint Arab co-ordination, and intensify efforts for investment in the transport sector and attract investors.
The minister also said that by hosting the Arab Union of Land Transport meetings, the UAE demonstrates its leading position in the transport sector at the regional and global levels.
Al Nuaimi went on to point out that the future of road transport in the UAE is witnessing a qualitative and prosperous shift following the implementation of the infrastructure network and land transportation, in accordance to UAE Vision 2021.
