
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Vice President of the Supreme Petroleum Council, said during his visit today to the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADNOC, that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, attaches great importance to, and will continue its support of, the oil and gas sector, and its national institutions, particularly ADNOC, due to the central role it plays in promoting the country's position as a major supplier of oil and gas and petroleum derivatives on the global energy map.
Sheikh Mohamed praised the contribution of ADNOC to the UAE’s economy and prosperity.
During his visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed, who was accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and H.H. Sheikh Diab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, was received by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and CEO of the ADNOC Group, and a number of senior officials in the company.
Sheikh Mohamed was briefed on the company's plans in the oil and gas sector, its strategic objectives and expansion projects in the petrochemical and refining industries, as well as projects being implemented at the Al Ruwais industrial complex.
He was also briefed on ADNOC's efforts to achieve its strategic short-term and long-term objectives to raise the standards and quality of operational efficiency, rationalisation of expenditure, maintaining assets to ensure sustainability, health and safety concerns for employees and the environment.
The Crown Prince said that ADNOC’s role as a reliable oil and gas provider underpins the UAE’s status as a global energy leader. He commended the group’s long term focus on strategic goals, while driving efficiencies in response to the evolving global energy landscape and market conditions.
