Egypt's Mufti Shawki Allam has called upon Egyptians to support Egypt's national projects, especially the new Suez Canal development project.
In a statement Tuesday, the top cleric urged the Egyptian people to buy the investment certificates of the newly-launched project, considering it a 'religiously permissible matter'.
"Egyptians' contribution to this project is a national duty as it protects the future of this great nation," Allam said.
He also lauded Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el-Tayyeb's visit to the location of the new Suez Canal project earlier. (MENA)
