New Suez Canal project to fulfill revolution aspirations

The new Suez Canal project and related development projects will achieve the aspirations of the Egyptian revolution for social justice and dignity, former assistant foreign minister Mokhles Qotb said.
The project aims to increase Egypt’s potentials for a better distribution of national wealth and raise the standard of living of citizens, Qotb said.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended on Tuesday morning the inauguration of the waterway to be dug alongside the Suez Canal. It is meant to add an extra lane to the Suez Canal, one of the world's most important thoroughfares for trade, in an attempt to increase the number of ships using it each day.
