Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah met Wednesday with Steen Lau Jorgensen, World Bank Country Director for the West Bank and Gaza Strip, to discuss WB support for development projects in the Palestinian territories, particularly East Jerusalem and marginalized areas.
The meeting tackled projects the WB is currently implementing in coordination with a number of donor countries.
Hamdallah stressed the need to unify efforts to achieve optimal benefit from those projects in a way that would best serve the Palestinian people.
He said his government was able to reduce the Palestinian public debt and improve the economy despite challenges.
A number of big development projects have been implemented in the West Bank
and Gaza Strip in cooperation with international institutions and donor countries, Hamdallah added.
