Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab held a meeting on Thursday to follow up the development of 78 of the most-needy villages nationwide.
"The development scheme will mainly target public services: drinking water, drainage systems, education, health, street lighting, canal cleansing, road pavement and job offering," Mahlab said during the meeting.
"The aim behind the meeting is to ease coordination between ministries and remove obstacles facing the project," he added.
The meeting was attended by Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Governor Hisham Ramez, and the ministers of planning, local development, urban development, education, housing and social solidarity along with other officials.
