
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab has held a meeting with the industry minister, the chairman of the Holding Company for Cotton Spinning and Weaving, the head of the Chamber of Textile Industries and the head of the textile workers union to discuss problems facing the textile industry.
During the meeting, the textile workers union and the Chamber of Textile Industries' officials briefed the premier on the textile troubles including, disputes between textile officials and the government to agree on a specific policy for cotton cultivation, problems of some public sector's textile companies and troubles of customs' evasion.
For his part, Mahlab asserted that the government is fully supporting the textile workers and also keen on reviving this industry and resolving its problems.
