
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab held a meeting on Sunday to get acquainted with progress in implementing the national project to increase the size of agricultural lands.
The project comes within the framework of the government's plan to reclaim one million feddans nationwide.
During the meeting, Agriculture Minister Adel el-Beltagi expounded the current situation of the lands suitable for reclamation in the projects of Al-Amal Village, Toshka, West Kom Ombo and West Minya.
He also explained the recent developments in the project site in Al-Amal Village.
Mahlab asked the ministers of irrigation and agriculture to develop a detailed time-table for the reclamation process.
Also, he assigned Minister of Housing and Utilities Mostafa Madbouly to rehabilitate the basic infrastructure and the housing units and buildings in the areas that are being reclaimed.
