Public Prosecution confiscates 14 tons of carcinogenic cosmetics in Alexandria

The Public Prosecution in Alexandria on Thursday ordered the confiscation of 14 tons of "carcinogenic" cosmetics which a company tried to smuggle into the country via Alexandria Port.
Police acted on a tip-off that a company would import hand tools from China and will bring them into the country via Alexandria Port.
Inquiries revealed that tons of cosmetics which are not registered by the Health Ministry and have potential to cause cancer were hidden inside the shipment.
After searching the shipment, police found 14 tons of cosmetics which the prosecution ordered their confiscation.
Investigations are underway.
