
HE Attorney General Dr. Ali bin Fetais Al Marri signed Tuesday an agreement with Assistant Secretary-General and Assistant Administrator at the United Nations Development Program.
The agreement aims to provide training to judges, lawyers and prosecutors in Africa in order to promote combatting corruption. HE the Attorney General said after the signing that the State of Qatar will partner the UN in everything related to the training courses. His Excellency added the courses will have their own budget contributed to by the participating parties in Africa and the State of Qatar.
HE the Attorney General noted that Qatar established the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center, which as backed by HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani backed with $10 million.
In response to a question on the efforts of His Excellency in reclaiming the money stolen from Arab Spring countries, he noted that billions were frozen and work was continuing on that front. HE the Attorney general noted that some of the Arab spring countries stopped cooperating with his efforts in that regard.
