
Qatargas Tuesday held the second Steering Committee Meeting for the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
Maersk Oil Qatar Deputy Manager Director Sheikh Faisal bin Fahad Al-Thani chaired the Qatar Section meeting held at Qatargas’ Doha Head Office.
Welcoming committee members, Qatargas Chief Operating Officer Engineering and Ventures Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Thani said, "This is a great opportunity to once more bring together the industry experts to share knowledge and best practices while at the same time to continue developing SPE Qatar Section Strategic Plans and discuss all organisational issues." He lauded the roles played by Qatargas women engineers.
During the meeting, members discussed SPE Qatar Section Strategic Plans, end of the Year Event and Events Schedule among many other topics.
The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) has more than 143,000 members in 147 countries participating in 199 section and 337 university chapters.
In Qatar, there are over 500 professional members and over 200 student members at Qatar University and Texas A&M University, Qatar.
SPE Qatar Section's mission is to collect, disseminate and exchange technical knowledge on the exploration, development and production of oil and gas resources, and related technologies.
