
The Qatari-Egyptian Business Council met here today under the co-chairmanship of Dr. Muharram Hilal, Chairman of the Council's Egyptian side and Qatari businessman HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Suhain Al Thani, the strategic partner of Egyptian Steel Group. The Council approved a proposal presented by HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Suhaim Al Thani on the establishment of an executive committee to promote joint investment opportunities between the two side to be based in Qatar. The committee comprises on the Qatari side Eng. Mansour Al Meer, member of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rashid Al Kaabi, Mohamed Al Obeidli and Saif Al Kuwari (Rapporteur for the Qatari side). On the Egyptian side the committee comprises Tariq Hashish, member of the Qatari-Egyptian Business Council, Jalal Abdel Fattah, Ahmed Adel and Tariq Zaatar (Rapporteur for the Egyptian side). During the meeting HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Suhaim Al Thani called on the Egyptian side to participate in projects and seize the investment opportunities available in Qatar. For his part, Dr. Muharram welcomed the proposal of Sheikh Mohamed bin Suhaim for the establishment of the committee which will play a prominent role in developing investments between the two countries during the coming period. He revealed that a new company will be established between Qatari investors and some Egyptian investors residing in Qatar with the capital of EGP 500 million, explaining that the company will operate in Egypt.
