
Qatari -Russian joint committee for trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation held its first meeting here today, said a press statement released today by the Ministry of Energy and Industry.
Chaired by HE Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, and Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak, the meeting discussed bilateral cooperation in the areas of trade, joint investment, energy, industry, science, education, culture and finance.
The statement added that the two sides agreed to continue this successful cooperation and to prepare for holding next session and business forum in Moscow in 2016.
A group of experts and researchers from Ministry of Energy and Industry, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) , Qatar Holding, Ministry of Environment, Hassad Food, Qatar Museums Authority, General Authority of Civil Aviation, Qatar Petroleum and Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage participated in the meeting.
From the Russian side, the meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Education and Science and the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance and a number of Russian companies such as Gazprom, Russian Railways company, Russian Direct Investment Fund and Russia's Sukhoi Civil Aircraft company.
The joint committee is scheduled to continue its two-day meeting to discuss issues related to trade and joint investment.
