A two-day seminar on basic and advanced training for professionals involved in organising conferences, meetings and exhibition; hosted by Qatar Tourism Authority; opened here at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) Tuesday.
The regional seminar of the International Association of Professional Congress Organizers (IAPCO) is titled 'Delivering Professional Congress Organization: Engaging All', QTA said today.
The IAPCO Seminar is training professionals involved in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry, including professional conference organizers (PCOs), Destination Management Companies (DMCs), convention and visitor bureaus, venue operators, and exhibition management companies.
QTA partners and stakeholders from private and public sectors are participating in the seminar.
QTA Director of Exhibitions Hamad Al Abdan said, "The seminar allows stakeholders from private and public sectors to discuss and exchange views with decision-makers and event organizers. It gives them information on the latest trends, planning, organizational and operational elements to manage international association meetings." IAPCO Training Academy Chairman Andre Vietor said, "This seminar is an endorsement of the future vision of the meetings industry of Qatar. It recognizes that education is the route to quality, excellence, the pathway to successful meetings, both bidding and winning, and the delivery." IAPCO President Michel Neijmann said, "IAPCO sees Qatar as a terminus for future international meetings and an important destination for conferences and meetings." The seminar supports tourism destinations wanting to keep or obtain a lead position in the MICE activity. It gives participants information and advice on how to stay updated, professional, offer good infrastructure and quality service, QTA said.
