
The Suez Canal Authority will refer a final study on a project to develop the economic area of the canal corridor to the Cabinet this week.
The study will include the outcome of promotion campaigns during the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC), which wrapped up in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh Sunday, said SCA chairman Mohab Mamish.
Dar Al Handasah had finalized the study on time in line with a contract signed with the SCA, Mamish told MENA.
The SCA will be in charge of marketing the project, Mamish added.
He said that a memorandum of understanding was signed on the sidelines of the EEDC with the Investment Ministry to benefit from its marketing expertise.
The SCA floated 10 major projects during the conference at a total investments of 15 billion dollars.
The first phase of the Suez Canal Corridor project is estimated to cost dlrs 45 billion.
