
His Majesty the King's Personal representative for Charity Work, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Chairman and Youth Affairs and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa today paid a visit to Al-Basta Market.
Industry and Commerce Minister Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, Southern Governor Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa, officials and representatives of sponsoring companies were present.
Shaikh Nasser toured the market, was informed about the displayed products and met stall owners and listened to their proposals on ways to develop the market.
He pointed out that the market aims to support private sector establishments, and small enterprises' owners through helping them to ensure a better future for themselves.
He lauded the significant role played by the Southern Governorate to ensure the success the success of the event.
He added that the market will profit participants and enable them to develop their enterprises, noting that the third edition succeeded because vendors diversified their products and the way of displaying them, which has attracted more shoppers.
Governor Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa praised Shaikh Nasser's support to their edition of the market, noting that his patronage of the event proves his keenness to achieve its goals, including empowering Bahraini youth in every fields, and supporting owners of micro-, small- and medium-sized-enterprises.
Shaikh Nasser and the Southern Governor honoured sponsors of the project.
The biggest shopping festival in Bahrain, the third Al-Basta Market is held under the patronage of Shaikh Nasser at the Bahrain International Circuit. It opened on December 19, 2014, and will be held on Fridays and Saturdays from 02:00 PM to 09:00 PM until March 28, 2015.
