President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting Thursday with Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish to probe proposed alternatives for the development of East Port Said Port.
The meeting took up means to benefit from the port's distinguished location to be one of the largest ten container ports worldwide under the general outline of the development project of the Suez Canal region, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
Sisi said the state's capabilities need to be channeled into the development of the port, the spokesman said.
The president also followed up dredging works at the new Suez Canal lane and preparations for its inauguration on August 6 as scheduled.
