
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi made a surprised tour on Sunday to the new Suez Canal project.
During the tour President Sisi held meeting with Suez Canal Authority Chairman Mohab Mamish, said Spokesman for the Presidency Alaa Yousef on Sunday.
Mamish briefed President Sisi on the progress made so far in the new Suez Canal project.
Following the meeting, Sisi made a maritime tour during which he followed up dredging operations at the canal's new lane.
En route to Cairo, President Sisi also inspected the works on the road of Jabal al Halal which links Ain Sokhna with Zafarana at a total length of 85 km.
Sisi met with engineers, contractors and workers in the project a along with officers of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces and listened to their problems.
He underscored the importance of completing the project as scheduled
