President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz attended al Itihadia palace on Sunday a ceremony marking the signing of six cooperation agreements and memos of understanding following their talks earlier in Cairo.
The agreements tackled cooperation in the fields of maritime cooperation, housing, culture, animal wealth, health and oil.
President Sisi and his Mauritanian counterpart held a session of expanded talks where they discussed ways of promoting cooperation, particularly in the economic fields as well as international and regional issues of mutual concern.
The Mauritanian president is expected to inspect a number of economic and investment projects in Egypt, especially in agriculture and livestock domains as well as meet with a number of Egyptian businessmen to discuss ways of fostering economic cooperation.
This is the first visit by a Mauritanian president to Egypt in more than 40 years.
